Earth magnetic field is main navigation of bird and other animal in migration. Specially for bird, it uses sensor around it nose to detect angle of magnetic field and its very sensitive that can detect 0.25 – 0.65 Gauss.
The main idea is the bird fill magnetic wave around it. It is very sensitive.
